About This

• SMOOTH TUMBLED FINISH, NOT JAGGED LAVA ROCK — Unlike traditional porous lava rock, these stones are hand-tumbled to create a smooth, rounded shape with no sharp edges. The result is a clean, modern look that complements contemporary gas fire pits, fire bowls, and gas log sets beautifully.
• LARGE 2"–3" SIZE — OUR MOST POPULAR SIZE — The perfect balance between coverage and visual impact. Large stones look natural and intentional in standard outdoor gas fire pits, fire bowls, and gas log fireplace sets — substantial enough to make a statement without overpowering the space. One 10-lb box covers approximately a 12"×12" area in a single layer — use 3–4 boxes for a full fire pit bed.
• HIGH TEMPERATURE RATED — IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE — Made from 100% natural volcanic lava stone that withstands extreme heat without crumbling, cracking, or discoloring. Safe for use with gas burners indoors and outdoors. Important: always allow stones to dry completely before use — wet or damp stones can pop or crack when exposed to high heat. Not recommended for wood-burning fireplaces.
• MIDWEST HEARTH — A BRAND YOU CAN TRUST — Midwest Hearth has been a trusted name in hearth and fire feature products for many years, serving thousands of satisfied customers across the US. Every order is packaged at our Minnesota facility, where broken or compromised stones are removed before your box is sealed. US-based customer support backed by a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
• VERSATILE INDOOR AND OUTDOOR USE — Perfect for gas fire pits, propane fire bowls, modern gas log sets, and decorative fire features both indoors and outdoors. Stack stones above your gas burner to create a natural flame effect, or mix with other Midwest Hearth sizes for a layered, custom look.
